Wedding hair trends for 2010 are revealed by Antoine Brechu, a stylist at the Roy Teeluck Salon in New York.
1. Structured
"Hair follows fashion," says BSH, "and this season runways are seeing structured clothes in terms of jackets with strong lines and shoulders with shape. To follow suit, updos will go from soft and loose to structured."
2. Half-Up, Half-Down
This is a very popular style, and rightfully so. It's got range! It can be worked differently with the volume on the top or the texture at the sides; and it suits curly, straight, and wavy hair.
3. Short
"I'm seeing more and more short [wedding] hair these days," says Brechu. "In fact, long hair is considered quite traditional. Brides, however, are happy to have short length and give hair a fun twist. For example, a bob can be slightly curled up to achieve a dramatic 1940s slant."
4. Extended
Extensions have usually been worn anywhere besides at a wedding, but now the editors suggest they are "a wonderful tool" for brides, too. If done correctly, they claim, "they will thicken, lengthen, and bring out the very best in the bride's hair."
5. Eclectic
"I've been working with lots of hair pieces that incorporate Swarovski crystals and feathers," reveals the creative wedding hairstylist. "Netting is also tres chic."

Work Your Way 4 A Beautiful Winter

Winter is just not about warm clothes, fireside reading, snuggling close to the pillows wrapped from head to toe with a comfy quilt. It is time to battle the cold winds that hampers your body and hair. A little care will keep the wintry troubles at bay.

Hair

Before the winter winds can work havoc with your hair, expose your hair to deep conditioning. Since the cold weather causes to dry your hair, massage your hair in aloe Vera juice for a few minutes. This will restore its softness.

You can also treat your hair with oil massage once or twice a week Olive oil can work wonders in reinforcing moisture to your hair. Heat the oil before using and allow it to soak for a time lesser than the time you allot for the summer season. Too long a period of soaking hair in oil can get you ill. If you are used to treating your hair with herbal extracts or herbal oil do not soak it for a long time. Herbal ingredients are mostly cooling agents that are more suitable for the summer. Keep away from washing your hair too frequently.

Woolen clothing like hats, scarves and turtlenecks can cause damage to your hairline. Since they can cause breakage, first cover your hair with a silk scarf before exposing it to winter wraps.

It is the appropriate time for split ends to work their way up to the hair shafts. Hence trim your split ends.

Style your hair with a braid, twist or a knot. Try Keeping away from letting your hair open and wild, as the cold winds can play rough on your hair.

Avoid exposing your hair to frequent coloring, streaking, or ironing as they can rob your hair off its moisture and it is advisable to avoid heating appliances on your hair.

Expose your hair to natural drying. Keep away from blow dryers. If you have to use, use one with a hood.

Always cover your hair with a silk fabric to guard it from the chill winds.

Skin

Your skin texture depends not only on external treatments, but also on the intake. A proper nutritious intake helps in rejuvenating the skin from within. Water plays an important role in keeping your skin alive. A good amount of water helps in retaining the moisture of your skin as well keeping skin disorders at bay. Fruits and vegetables in your daily diet release a lot of water to your system. Primrose syrup and olive oil in your diet also aids in softening your skin.

Use the paste of ground green gram powder instead of soap to work your way to a soft and supple skin.

Pamper you skin with a little coconut oil before bath to heal dryness and chaps. Use a creamy soap that renders that extra suppleness to your skin.

Moisturizers and cold creams are a must in the winters. Apply some good cold cream on your face before going to bed. Moisten your skin with a good moisturizer or a creamy hand and body lotion. My best buy is ' Jergens' hand and body lotion.

Add a few drops of oil to the water that you are using to bath. This will help retain the moisture lost when bathing. Avoid using very hot water during winter as it can decrease the natural oils of your skin. Instead shorten your bath time.

Hands, legs and nails

When treating your legs add a few drops of oil in the water that you use to soak them. With regards to hands, try using rubber gloves while immersing them in water. Use a base coat over your nails against the cold weather.

Lips

A good petroleum jelly will be an effective cover over your lips against the cold weather. Butter is effective in curing chapped lips and renders an extra softness.

So get ready to shield your body against the winter threats.

SkinCare in Winter

  • When you are outside, the cold temperatures result in a poor blood circulation in your facial skin. As a result your skin does not get enough nutrients and oxygen and all the healthy, regenerative processes in your skin slow down. As a result, skin looses its healthy color and becomes dull or pale

  • When you are inside, your skin is losing its moisture due to the dry environment created by indoor heating. As a result, it feels tight, dry and can start flaking.

  • When you shift between the cold outside and the warm and dry inside environments the difference is so big and stressful for your skin that your skin naturally cannot balance itself quickly enough. This results in loss of hydration, irritation, widened capillaries and redness. All of the above mentioned contributes to your skin’s misbalance, stress, sensitivity and dryness. To keep your skin beautiful and healthy during winter you should:
*help it to restore the protective hydrolipid barrier
    *protect and balance your skin
    *moisturize, moisturize and again moisturize
    *provide protection against UV-light
The first step is to rethink your skin care routine and skin care products you normally use.
    1. Go Easier on daily cleansing and alcohol containing skin care in the winter
Since extreme weather weakens skin’s balance and protective lipid barrier, you need to save your skin the additional stress of an intensive cleansing routine that will only worsen the situation. Choose a lighter non-stripping cleansing solution: cleansing milk or mild foaming cleanser.

  •  If you are using a tonic with alcohol on a daily basis it is better to stop for winter or substitute it with a non-alcohol toning product. Remember, alcohol strips skin of lipids, natural protective oils and contributes to skin’s dryness and increased sensitivity.

    2. Peel Deal:
If you are a fan of daily peeling products, it is advisable to change your routine for winter and to do a maximum of 2-3 peelings per week. Peeling your skin surface on a daily basis does not let it restore its protective lipid barrier and balance itself. It becomes more susceptible to free radical damage and even to break-outs.
If you notice that your skin has become very dry, sensitive or even started flaking, exclude moisturizers, serums etc containing peeling ingredients such Retinol, AHAs and Glucosamine.

    3. Go Heavier on Moisturizer:
Moisturizers are mostly based on 3 types of ingredients: humectants, emollients, occlusive (very often emollients have occlusive properties as well).
Humectants, such as hyaluronic acid or urea, keep our skin moisturized by attracting water to its surface (epidermis). Humectants help to attract moisture from the environment as well as from dermis to epidermis.
Emollients like petroleum or shea butter soften, soothe the skin, increase its ability to retain moisture and create a protective layer on the skin to prevent it from dehydration.
Occlusive ingredients in moisturizers provide protective layer on the skin’s surface to prevent it from loosing moisture.
Humectants-based products are usually recommended for oily and combination skin types, while emollient-based and occlusive-based ones for normal and dry types. However, in winter our skin type often shifts. Oily skin becomes normal, while normal displays signs of being dry, and dry skin becomes very sensitive and often irritated.
Look for heavier moisturizing products to use in winter with such ingredients as jelly, silicons, evening primrose oil, shea butter and almond oil. Some skin care specialists suggest using protective emollient-based skin care products for the day and humectants-based at night to help restore your skins’ moisture level.
    4. Timing is Important:
Apply your moisturizer at least 30 minutes to an hour before going outside. This is especially true if your moisturizer is humectants-based or has high water content. If you do not let your moisturizer penetrate and get absorbed by the skin it can freeze into micro ice particles on your skin’s surface or dramatically cool down your skin surface when you go into the cold winter day.

    5. Hot Bubbly Escapes:
It is not recommended to have prolonged hot showers or long hot baths in winter. The fact is that the latter do not add to the moisture level of our skin but on the contrary take away the protecting lipid and fat layers and contribute to skin’s dehydration. When you shower make sure the water is not too hot and use shower milk that contains oils and emollients. If you are a fan of bubble baths as a way to escape the winter blues make sure to add moisturizing oils to the baths and apply a moisturizing body product afterwards.
    6. Nobody Cancelled Sun Protection for Winter!
In winter the sun’s reflective powers on the snow can be higher than on the sand of a beach in the summer. Use sun protection to prevent UV damage and photoaging. We don’t have to remind you but your sun protection should not be lower than 15 SPF, of course.
    7. Say No to Chapped Lips and Dry Hands
Usually lips and hands suffer most during the winter season. Lips get sore and chapped and hands get dry and flaky. For your lips, choose a thicker moisturizer with shea butter, jojoba butter OR avocado oil and apply it every time before going outside as well as before going to bed. Some protective and moisturizing lip care products are available as tinted glosses or balms.
Take special care of your hands since skin on the hands is thinner than on the rest of the body. In addition, hands are often exposed to stressful or stripping factors like soaps, winds, water etc. And finally, it is a known fact that hands are among the first to show signs of aging. Choose a rich emollient-based hand care product and treat your hands to a mask two times a week.
    What else can you do?
    8. Humidify:
Home or office environments in winter can get very dry due to heating. Your skin starts to feel tight and burning from dehydration. Increase the humidity level indoors by using a humidifier. Alternatively, several house plants can balance out humidity level in the environment.
    9. Vitamins and Antioxidants:
Help your skin to regain its energy and strength in winter by taking an antioxidant supplement. Most important antioxidants for the skin are Vitamin C, B, E, Zink and Magnesium
     0. Express Winter Facial:
Give yourself a mini-facial at home once or twice a week. Cleanse your skin. Use a mild exfoliating product selected for your skin type. Take a soft fluffy towel and soak it in warm water (not hot but not cool either). Add 2-3 drops of an essential aroma oil such as lavender oil to sooth, de-stress and refresh the skin. Press the towel to your face and inhale 3-4 times slowly and deeply to let the oil do its aroma work. This will stimulate blood circulation as well. For a stronger effect you can repeat the procedure one more time. Apply a hydrating and soothing mask or regeneration mask for 10-15 minutes. Make sure the room where you are having your mini-facial is comfortably warm. The mask on your face should not cool down to a level stressful for your skin. Take off the mask and apply your daily moisturizer with massaging movements. Direct the movements from the center of your face outward and a bit upward. Finish up by slightly tapping with your fingertips all over your face. This express facial will stimulate blood circulation, give your skin energy, restore its balance and help it regain its healthy radiance.
    11. Stay Active:
Do not give in to winter blues. Do your daily fitness routine! This keeps you fit and stimulates blood circulation in your whole body and of course your skin.

    1. Drink water …
Hydrate your skin from within by drinking lots of water. Carry a bottle with you when you go outside. Herbal tea is also great when it’s really cold. Your skin will soon have a healthy glow. So drink up and don’t let your skin go thirsty.

    2. Humidifier …

One good option would be to put moisture back into the air. A humidifying system can help your skin remain supple instead of cracked and dry. You can buy a system from your local drug store.

    3. Exfoliate …

A good boy scrub and facial exfoliant can help remove dead skin cells from your body. Add this to your cleansing routine once a week. Not only will you feel fresh but your skin will be free from all that old dry cells. Now you’re ready to moisturize!

    4. Oil based moisturizer …

This will help protect your skin from moisture loss. Choose one that comes in an ointment form as it will contain 80% oil. Creams and lotions may tend to dry out the skin rather than keep it moisturized and soft.

    5. Sunscreen …

Don’t say goodbye to your sunscreen just because summer is over. Before you leave your house, apply a sunscreen with at least an SPF of 15 or more. This will protect your skin from the elements. Alternatively, choose a product can combines a sunscreen with a moisturizer.

    6. Gloves …

It’s simple but it works! Why expose your hands to the cold. Choose a good quality pair that does not irritate the skin. If you’re allergic to wool, wear a cotton mitten underneath. It will help keep your hands dry and warm.

    7. Flaxseed oil …

Although it doesn’t taste very great flaxseed oil can moisturize your body from the inside. Since it is rich in vital fatty acids it can do a lot for your overall health. It is available in oil form as well as in capsule form.

    8. Oil bath …

Now how does a jojoba oil or sweet almond bath sound to you? Relaxing isn’t it! You don’t have to keep these for holidays. Nourish you skin by adding a few drops of these oils into your every day bath. It will do wonders for your skin.

    9. No blow dry …

Yes, sadly so. The blow drier is not your friend in winter. Try the tousled look or the wavy style this winter. Hot air dries out your scalp and can irritate your skin as well. So give the blow drier a miss this cold season.

    10. Don’t lick …

… your lips we mean. If you do, you’ll only chap your lips even more. Keep a lip balm in your purse and apply it when you’re tempted! Or read more advice on

1 Step.  Goose or Duck Fat …

Our grandmothers used goose or duck fat to facilitate the healing of chapped lips. Those are truly wonderful remedies, so next time when you are making a roast duck with apples, do not discard the fat, but keep it in the fridge as a traditional medicine. If you do not have any, do not despair – coconut oil, or olive oil, or shea butter, will work great, as well. Apply frequently until your lips heal.

    2 Step.  No Alcohol …

Do not use any gel, balm, or lipstick that contain alcohol or petroleum products – they for sure will worsen the condition and will make your chapped lips feel even dryer and more painful. Use only natural remedies. A good rule is to put on your lips only edible ingredients (this rule also works well for any other body care products, because the skin rapidly absorbs all contents of lotions and creams, both good and bad ). In other words, if you cannot eat it – do not put it either on your lips or on your skin!

    Parental styles that breaks marriages

With all parents obviously aiming at being the best parents on the planet, one area of controversy that has remained for decades is whether there is a particular universail parenting model.
Younger and older parents alike cannot stop fumbling with the issue of whether there is an ideal parenting style universally or whether, a blend of many diverse methods would result into effective parenting. Perhaps you fall within the purview of this puzzle. If that is true; you are encouraged to read on since we shall discuss different parenting styles for your benefit.
By tradition, there are three major identifiable perenting styles. There is the authoritarian, permissive, and authoritative parenting mode respectively. Imperative to remember is that each of these methods has an impact on the development and behaviour of the child. To begin with, the authoritarian parenting is where the parent promulgates rules with an expectation that their child will comply to those rules without exception. In this method, the input of the child is not recognized. The facet of this style is its inflexible nature that always has the tendecy to curtail the child’s thinking ability. The other disadvantage of this parenting method is that parents who are given to it rarely take time to explain what they expect consequently, giving the child no room to appreciate the rationale of certain rules imposed. The inverse of this mode is that, despite this; harsh punishment is always effected with no positive re-enforcements.
The second is the authoritaive style of parenting. This is more democratic in approach. Under authoritative method, parents explain their expectations to the children as they expressly set rules and guidelines for them. Nevertheless, they offer to state the rationale for rules they put in place as they bring into the children’s awareness the consequences they will face should they fail to comply with the set norms. Different from authoritarian style; in authoritative system, discipline is given with warmth and love. Here, communication is two faceted, the child is given an opportunity to articulate their mind, and opinions, as the parents pay attention to listen.
The last is permissive parenting style. This sytle however, does not establish boundaries or limits. This mode has the highest record of producing unruly children in comparison to others. Permissive parents operate with almost no rules at all if not few allowing children do whatever they please. Precisely, it is like there is no discipline at all and any form of indiscipline goes unpunished always resulting to mayhem at home.
Lastly, a combination of all those methods would be the most ideal with variations as and when the parent gauges intervals that need dialogue from the rest. In whole, they must set rules and adjust where necessary.

Eye makeup is important for women

With constant juggling between the household chores, preparing feasts and doing religious rituals, a woman neglected her own self especially from her health and makeover side.
Makeup and make over are purely the women business. Every woman has an inner desire to look good, beautiful, different and young ever. For this, the women do every possible thing from skin care to makeup techniques. Gone were the days when women only used to wear/apply a fairness cream, a kohl and a herb to clean , color and shine their teethes. Now are the days when women try to do all that things which make them more beautiful, charming, smart, stylish and gorgeous.
They spend a huge budget on makeup accessories and also go off and on to the beauty salons to enhance their beauty. As the Holy month of Ramadan has started the duties & responsibilities of every woman become doubled. They not only have to take care of their home, spouse and children, but also need extra care for themselves as well. Almost every woman during Ramadan gives extra attention & time to their kitchen activities & thus neglects their own health & over all make over.
Being a centre and focal point of your home you need t put an extra effort on yourself too because your health counts a lot. If you are healthy and fit your home automatically will become healthy happy and fit.
This Ramadan special article, we put special focus on some easy growing and modish makeup tips for you women. By using them you can enhance your beauty & over all looks.
    Basic tips during Ramadan:
    • Keep your skin clean and healthy: the first step before applying any makeup is clean and healthy skin. The better your skin’s texture and color, the less makeup you will need. Skin that is clear, healthy and even in tone allows you to wear less makeup because you don’t need it! Cleanse tone, moisturize, and apply eye cream.
    • Keep all makeup matte and muted: This means no shimmers, sparkles, or false lashes.
    • Apply light things: Apply a light coverage -concealer, foundation and powder.
    • Use matte blush on: Apply a blush that makes you look youthful and healthy. A matte peach, pink, or skin-color blush is great.
    • Apply nude lip colors: Apply a creamy nude color of lipstick in this Ramadan and get a new look. Blushing Nude is actually a very light, nude lip color, but on paper it looks super dark.
    • Use matte eye shadow: Use a matte beige eye shadow all over the eyelid, then apply a medium-toned matte eye shadow color on the crease, like brown, taupe, or navy blue. (This is optional. If you feel you don’t need it, you can go with eyeliner only.)
    • Wear dark eye liner: Line your eyes in dark burgundy, dark brown, black or navy blue eyeliner to enhance your eyes.
    • Try mascara colors other than black: Curl your lashes and apply a coat of black mascara. This is a fun time to experiment with colors that are less dramatic than black, however. So try to use mascara colors like burgundy, navy blue, or brown and see how subtle changes can affect your overall appearance.
And remember, your inner beauty is more important and promising than your outer beauty. So be generous, speak well, do well, and be well.

Make Up Your Eyes for Evening

When evening calls for a glamorous look, you want to focus on making your eyes amazing. Here are eight simple steps to making up your eyes for evening.
       1. Prep your eyes with concealer. Concealer can be used to cover up under eye circles or just the bluish discoloration just under your inner eye. To cover dark under eye circles, apply three dots of concealer under each eye. Start at the inner corner where skin tends to be darkest, then under the pupil and the third on the outer edge.
       2. Apply eye base to your lid Eye base is the secret to keeping your shadow in place for hours. Without properly priming your lid first, your eye shadow will likely end up a greasy line in your crease.
       3. Apply shadow. It's great to use a three-toned shadow and build from lids to brow. Allowing them to merge into each other like a rainbow is graceful. Start with a light color that almost matches your lid. brush the color across the lid and up to your browbone. Follow with a medium color across your lid only. Build on this with a darker color in the crease. Blend the colors well.

       4. Follow with eyeliner Dark eyeshadows work great as eyeliners. Wet a slanted brush, and then dip in a dark eyeshadow. Line eyes as close to the upper lashes as possible from the inner corner to the outer corner. Follow with liner on bottom eyes, but only line from the middle of the eye out. Smudge the bottom line with a Q-tip or your finger. You don't want a prominent line. For a smokey eye, use a brush to pat in a dark eyeshadow along the upper lid and below the lid. You don't want a stark line, instead you want to blend it so it's 'smudge-y.'
       5. Brighten your eyes with a highlighter. This step involves only the inside part of the eye. With a gold or pink highlighter (white is too bright), draw a v-shaped shape that follows the inner corner of your eye from top to bottom. Blend with your fingers. This will help make eyes 'pop.'
       6. Highlight your brow Take the same highlighter and dab it on your browbone, concentrating on your mid-brow outward. Blend with your finger.
       7. Curl lashes An eyelash curler will make even long lashes look more gorgeous. For added effect, you can heat the curler under a blowdryer for a couple seconds. Test curler before applying to lashes because you could burn yourself.
       8. Apply mascara Place the wand of your mascara brush at the bottom of lashes and wiggle back and forth. Follow with another few sweeps of the wand. Apply to bottom lashes as well.

    Makeup in a Matte Look

Every woman who has to deal with a skin that tends to get oily easily and needs to control sebum is a follower of what we call a matte makeup. You shouldn't be afraid of this type of makeup as long as you know it flatters you and suits your skin type. If you have dry skin, a matte makeup can look good just after applying it, but at the end of the day your skin might be even more dry and with an unaesthetic look. Even though it is not that easy to handle, here are a few tips for a matte makeup for you to do at home.
Matte makeup can be a tricky business as it requires certain moderation since a too thick powder or foundation coat would look unnatural and unflattering. Despite the fact that sometimes, especially in photos, a matte skin looks perfect, in reality it is not totally matte and it has a natural shine throughout the day due to sebum. If you want a perfect matte look you need to choose mattifying products both for makeup and skin care.
One should keep in mind that you don't have to stop the sebum secretion entirely at skin level, but you have to reduce it quantitatively as this oily substance is the skin's weapon against noxious external factors, such as pollution or sun rays that are responsible for the premature aging of your skin.
Before starting the whole makeup process one needs to pay a lot of attention to the products used for the skin. In order to prevent the skin getting oily during the day and control sebum, you need a special makeup base. The routine says that you should first apply a moisturizing cream and foundation. However, if what you want is a matte result, you should apply, after the moisturizer and before the foundation, a mattifying makeup base. You can use it on the entire face or just on the areas with problems, such as the T-zone. In case your skin becomes oily extremely fast, forget about the moisturizer.
A smart investment would be the a moisturizing cream that controls the sebum at skin level. This cream has a double action, moisturizing and mattifying, keeping your skin fresh and matte for a longer period of time and avoiding the oily and shiny look a normal moisturizer would give you. This way you don't have to use tones of powder that adds a mask aspect. Moreover, you are not obliged to redo your makeup throughout the day. It is advisable to see a dermatologist or a cosmetician in order to find the best products for your skin type and issues.

If your skin is mixed, try products that are specially created for keeping under control the sebum in the T-zone. These products can be applied after the moisturizer, but they are also others that you are allowed to apply during the day over makeup without having to use the powder again. If you have problems with a shiny nose, then is that area you should control using a mattifying or oil control face primer and a matte pressed powder on your nose.
When it comes to doing the perfect matte makeup, the result stands in the texture of the products you use and not the quantity. You should go for a semi-matte or a matte foundation and use the concealer only where you need to. Also, avoid a translucent powder as you'll never obtain the result you are looking for regardless the quantity you apply. However, a matte makeup should start with a primer. You can use a mattifying face powder which acts like a primer and apply it on your face.

You also need a blush in earthy tones and apply it on the cheekbones and nose. Getting matte lips is one of the easiest things ever. The first step in obtaining matte, plump lips, before starting the actual makeup process, is to exfoliate your lips using a scrub in order to get rid of all the dry skin as this might give an unaesthetic look.
Afterwards, use a lip balm that will soften and moisturize the lips. Apply a gentle layer and wait a couple of minutes allowing it enters to the skin. This step is crucial as usually matte lipsticks are made from powdered pigments and if the lips are not properly moisturized they will look dry and chapped. Take a lip liner in the same color as that of your lipstick and slowly make a contour. Then, fill the contour with gentle moves at lip surface. Using a thin eye brush apply on the lips a face powder that will help set the contour and prevent glossy lips.

Now its time to apply a matte lipstick starting from the center of the lips towards the outer corners. You can choose a nude shade, a bold red or a flirty pink. Use a lip brush to fix everything and make the contour invisible. Pay a lot of attention when applying the lip liner as a too sharp line can look unnatural. As a final step, remove all lipstick excess using a tissue. This will also remove any shiny effect and give that beautiful matte look.
For the eyes, choose an eyeshadow with a matte texture and use it only after applying a soft coat of makeup base in order to avoid the eyeshadow to gather into the creases of the skin. Then, apply the mascara and define your eyebrows using an eyebrow pencil.
