1. Structured

"Hair follows fashion," says BSH, "and this season runways are seeing structured clothes in terms of jackets with strong lines and shoulders with shape. To follow suit, updos will go from soft and loose to structured."

2. Half-Up, Half-Down

This is a very popular style, and rightfully so. It's got range! It can be worked differently with the volume on the top or the texture at the sides; and it suits curly, straight, and wavy hair.

3. Short

"I'm seeing more and more short [wedding] hair these days," says Brechu. "In fact, long hair is considered quite traditional. Brides, however, are happy to have short length and give hair a fun twist. For example, a bob can be slightly curled up to achieve a dramatic 1940s slant."

4. Extended

Extensions have usually been worn anywhere besides at a wedding, but now the editors suggest they are "a wonderful tool" for brides, too. If done correctly, they claim, "they will thicken, lengthen, and bring out the very best in the bride's hair."

5. Eclectic

"I've been working with lots of hair pieces that incorporate Swarovski crystals and feathers," reveals the creative wedding hairstylist. "Netting is also tres chic."
